(The note that the device should not be connected before the driver has been installed is mostly for legacy USB tools, but its a easy guidance since Windows can become a bit confused still (not as bad as earlier versions, but still.) The CMSIS-DAP part only uses the built-in hid driver. You need driver for 2 of the endpoints, the Virtual COM Port (usbser + our inf files) and the Data Gateway (WinUSB + our inf files).

If this device really only needs a driver from Microsoft, then why do all of the docs admonish "Do not connect the device until" after the other software is installed? One other question, just because I don't understand. Further you allude to other endpoints being available, I see no evidence in Device Manager as yet, but perhaps that is to be expected.Ĭlearly, I am missing something from your guidance. In particular, not list of Vendors/Devices shows up.

#Ice driver program install#
When I try to manually install drivers for the Amtel-ICE, I can only achieve the results already described. Given that I cannot locate said composite driver, I certainly can't install driver for it. There is one other instance of a composite driver in the system which device manager claims is "working".

"First, check that the composite driver works (needs USB2)." My device has no drivers loaded. I'm embarrassed because I can't seem to follow your instructions I've crawled the web and this site in particular.ĭoes anyone know if the successful installation modifies the device somehow, or does it only modify Windows 7? (running SP1 btw). I've tried pointing the installation at c:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\winusb.sys as you suggested (but it is not a HID device quite yet, so no joy). I've removed and installed the jungo stuff. I've tried uninstalling everything I could find, rebooting, then installing it all again, still no joy. I've tried reinstalling the Atmel USB drivers. I've uninstalled/reinstalled Atmel Studio 6.2. I tried pointing it hither and yon, and got slightly different results by directing windows to look in "C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository". Normally, attachment or attempts to install the driver produce this: My system cannot find the driver for "Atmel-ICE CMSIS-DAP". Seriously, I've spent literally 10 hours trying to get this darn ICE installed.
